2025 is all about being your OWN Valentine!
Valentine’s Day is a day that some people love and others hate. In my opinion, it’s all about perspective. Have I personally had the best Valentine’s Day in history? Absolutely not. I have had many more disappointing Valentine's Days over the years than wonderful Valentine's Days. Do I still hold out hope that I will have some wonderful romantic holidays ahead of me? Yes! It’s all about perspective.
Since my marriage ended, I have chosen to take Valentine's Days in a different direction. I stopped hoping for flowers, romantic evenings and fireworks and, instead, I choose to celebrate myself. I began celebrating my relationships with my girlfriends and finding joy in the simple moments surrounding this day, a day that is all about love. Do I still hope that I will be lucky enough to wake up to someone showing me how much they love and adore me on Cupid’s special day? Do I still hope I will receive a surprise of the prettiest floral arrangement or a thoughtful gift? Yes, I do, but I also have realized that the love that I have for myself is so much more important and although I dream of champagne, slow dances in the moonlight and the warmest displays of affection, I know I will survive without it (whether I want to or not) because I love myself.
Now, if there is a man out there that wants to make all of my Valentine's Day dreams come true, please feel free, but if there isn’t, I know that I am still loved!
This year’s Valentine’s Day gift guide is all about things that make me feel happy, cozy and all the good feels. This year I am all about the comfiest and cutest pajamas, sweet treats, bows for my little Maggie, cutesy toys for her to play with, and some other things that you can gift yourself. Why not make yourself feel special on a day that’s all about celebrating LOVE, if even it is simply the love you have for yourself. I am throwing in a few other things that you could gift your lover, your friend, your child or anyone else special, but this year, I am focusing on celebrating the love that I hope we all have for ourselves. If you are (romantically)unattached this Valentine's Day, there is no reason for sorrow. This is the perfect occasion to buy yourself the pretty pajamas or lingerie, draw yourself that bubble bath you deserve, sip on your favorite champagne and snack on something that you absolutely love.
Do these things not because you are sharing your evening with your lover, but because you love yourself!
