This is my honest review of the newest restaurant to hit downtown Peoria. Have you been there yet? Saffron Social is open for business on Washington Street in Downtown Peoria!
The new restaurant in Peoria, Saffron Social is a whole vibe and I am here for it! Walking in you are immediately surround by the glamour and incredible styling of the decor. Saffron truly feels like a restaurant that is in downtown Chicago and it is exactly what Peoria has needed for a long time. And the food and cocktails—Incredible!
On a Friday night, two of my girlfriends and I split the seafood tower. It was delicious, we were full and didn’t even completely finish it. The cocktails were fabulous as well. The second time I attended was for a work dinner. The person joining me was from Charlotte, NC, and he said that he very much enjoyed it as well. That night we split the Crab Tots appetizer, it was the servers suggestion and I will tell you, they were little pillows of deliciousness! The perfect combination of a crab cake and tater tots! I then had the French onion soup which was honestly a little too salty but the ratio of the mixture of the pinions, bread and cheese was spot on. For my entree, I had the Beet & Burrata salad which was delicious, just a little too heavy on the arugula and it could have had more beets.
With Saffron Social being a new restaurant, I was unsure of what to expect from the wait staff and service but it was much better than I had anticipated. The servers were knowledgeable and provided great suggestions. I was greeted very soon after I was sat at my table, bread was brought within a couple of minutes of me sitting down along with waters and my cocktail order was taken and brought to me quickly.
Travis Molenbrink, the owner of Spice Hospitality has knocked this one out of the park. If you haven’t tried Saffron Social yet, get there asap! Great for a girls night out, sexy date night, business dinner, or even just to fill your belly with wonderful food and drink!
